The most telling fact about Liverpool this season is they have completely lost their identity as a footballing team.

Compare this with the back end of 2012/2013 season and most of the 2013/2014 season, it is completely dire and it can only be attributed to players losing confidence in the manager.

Buying players that don't fit the system, buying players that are distinctly average at exorbitant fees, not addressing the defence in the form of a Steve Bould type coach.

He didn't get Sanchez, fine, there were many others that can do a similar effort and style to Suarez, maybe not the class.

On Sunday, we for the first time in a long time this season created chances, however once again the defence has been shambolic, (how did three players let Valencia ghost past them, all standing there, wondering who is picking him up!) It was amateur stuff and we deserved nothing from the game defending like that. The offside was bad but that wasn't the reason we lost.

 I feel sorry for Sterling, he isn't Suarez, he is the youngest player on the team and expected to carry them in Sturridge's absence!

Would not be surprised to see him leave to go to City next season (won't have to move and will get a s**t load of cash and a shared workload) Simply put the players bought are very average, and we paid like they were world class (as we always do) Rodgers unfortunately is on borrowed time and looks out of his depth, and defeatist in his interviews.

Shame, just reminds me of that season after we finished second and then sold Alonso. Replace Alonso with Suarez and worse football = sacking on its way.

Who do you replace him with, the only answer is Simeone, we need that aggressiveness to be transmitted by someone like Simeone to the team, that fight and that doggedness to not lie down. We are completely spineless at the moment.
