Eden Hazard has been chosen as Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association to claim an awards double alongside his PFA Player of the Year crown after an outstanding season.
The Chelsea playmaker was a comfortable winner with 53 per cent of the vote from over 300 journalists, comfortably ahead of Tottenham striker Harry Kane, with his Chelsea team-mate and captain John Terry third.
Hazard has scored 20 goals across all competitions this season and has led Jose Mourinho's side to a first Barclays Premier League title in five years as well as the Capital One Cup.
Hazard succeeds former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez as the winner of the prestigious accolade and he will recieve his prize at a dinner held at London's Landmark Hotel on May 21.
