Season dead in the water now and very, very worried for this summer, the vultures will be circling.
Unfortunately we have completely and utterly bottled it in our two biggest games of the season.
By all means, Rodgers should take some of the blame for the United game, as I believe the current 3-4-3 system was destined to fail in that.
Also bringing on Gerrard at half-time was a big mistake, we all knew he would be going out there like a man possessed and aside from that, him spraying balls about and knocking half of them into the stands was not what we needed in that game.
Saturday was just a write off from the start, I genuinely don't think a change in formation would've helped anything as it was an absolutely shocking performance from pretty much every individual in a black shirt.
I honestly do not think one player out there could really walk off the pitch with their head held high.
Discipline is a real real worry now, the main area I think Brendan has to improve. With Gerrard, Skrtel and Can all getting involved in stupid dismissals in the space of two games, I really do think that will cost us a genuine shot at the FA Cup.
I now can't see us returning from Ewood Park still in the competition. We will suffer hugely losing out on Skrtel and Can's physicality as the only other player capable of matching Gestede and Blackburn's general direct approach.
Unfortunately it seems when push comes to shove these boys aren't quite ready yet (Chelsea (h) and Palace (a) last season, United (h) and Arsenal (a) this year).
This said, to end on a positive note we are talking about an especially young side out there, as well as a young manager. I am a big, big fan of Rodgers and truly believe he is the right man to take the club forward.
He has undoubtedly taken the club forward from when he took over and we are heading in the right direction. This is Rodgers' first shot at a high pressure role and just like any young player, it will take time for him to establish himself and hopefully he will learn from these experiences and use them to Liverpool's benefit in the future.
