In the past two seasons Liverpool have performed better in the second half than in the first. Please oh please let that be the case again.
The fluency of the performance on Monday was similar to Arsenal but actually our system nullified their main threats very effectively I thought for the most part; Bony was kept quiet and I don't think they had more than one shot on target in the first half.
This was helped in part by the defensive work of both wing-backs.

Against Chelsea he looked like the best of the midfield trio and tonight he looked the best of the centre-back trio.
His calmness on the ball was infectious and he actually made Skrtel look a bit less jittery in possession which was a minor miracle.
Sakho generally did well but had a few worrying moments but far less than Lovren.
I really hope this can remain our defensive three for a little while now I like Emre Can quite a lot. Mignolet's distribution is horrendous but the less said about it the better.
Henderson in the centre looks much more sensible. People have talked about him performing poorly this season but how many chances has he had to actually play in the same place he did last season?
Lallana is also starting to find some rhythm and I am increasingly impressed by his pressing in the game.
Lots of our players put pressure on the ball but I love the way Lallana applies pressure to force the play in the certain direction which gives us more opportunities to corner their players and force mistakes.
He seems like an intelligent footballer and I hope he stays fit now. Liverpool's third goal made me feel like I had gone back in time eight months. It was bloody lovely.
