In the hours leading up to every Arsenal game the clubs official Facebook page will always post that days team. As as a fan, I will often glance at it and no matter what and there are always hundreds of comments about Podolski.
Now as he isn't an automatic first choice the comments are almost always criticising Wenger for not picking him as well as people saying they think he will leave. I just feel I should make the comparison with Kagawa, as both he and Podolski seem like players whose reputation precedes them but they have failed to really produce in the Premier League.
Man United fans especially earlier in the season were calling for Kagawa to start and when he did they criticised Moyes for playing him on the left wing rather than through the center which is considered his best position.
The exact same thing happens with Podolski at Arsenal and both players performances have been muted throughout the year. We see the odd moment of brilliance and the odd goal, but other than that they have a tendency to be anonymous.
Podolski is rather lucky that most Arsenal fans are focused on Ozil because if you want to see a player have no real impact on the game then you only need to watch Podolski.
As much as I like him, and I do I swear, he simply isn't good enough. He showed at Bayern that he isn't really cut out for a bigger team and that he thrives whilst playing week in week out for a smaller team.

Arsenal need quality strikers and I don't think Podolski fits that description anymore. His international record is pretty amazing, but he might just be one of those rare breeds that is better for his country than his club (see: Bendtner) I for one would like to see him sold in the summer and a replacement brought in.
It would be best for the club and for Podolski too who i'd love to see playing well again, probably for a decent German side like Schalke or Dortmund.
