Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala have told striker Samuel Eto’o his salary would be slashed by three if he must remain with the club beyond 2014.
The 32-year-old striker, who is also Anzhi’s captain, earns €20 million per annum but would see that pay slashed to €7 million if he accepts an extension beyond May 2014.
With just one year left in Samuel Eto’o’s fabulous contract at Anzhi talks, have since opened between both parties for a possible renewal, however, the Dagestan outfit is demanding that the Cameroon international should accept a pay cut as one of the conditions to remain at the club.
Eto’o, who joined the Russian club in August 2011, scored 13 goals during his first season and 19 in the second, helping the team to finish third in the just concluded season.
