Nigeria’s Flying Eagles were hit for 4 by Brazil in the first Group E match at the FIFA U20 World Cup.
1st choice goalie Joshua Enaholo’s 82nd minute howler effectively put the game beyond Manu Garba’s lads who had conceded as early as the 4th minute in a not to impressive 2nd-half display at the Stadium Karanaki in New Plymouth.
Isaac Success and Kelechi Iheanacho started for the Flying Eagles along side Taiwo Awoniyi up front but the trio failed to turn up the goods as Manu Garba suffered his first defeat since 2013.
Nigeria next face Korea DPR in the second Group E game in a bid to launch themselves back in contention for a place in the second round as Brazil wrap up valuable points in what might turn out an easy ride in the group.
