Liverpool To Be Offered Falcao
Liverpool will be offered the chance to sign Manchester United flop Radamel Falcao on loan this summer.
The Colombian striker has disappointed since his big-money loan to Old Trafford, netting just four times in United colours.
But rivals Liverpool will not make any decision on a potential move until their Champions League fate is determined.
Brendan Rodgers made a concerted effort to sign Falcao last year but the player was intent on joining Real Madrid before ending up at Old Trafford. Accepting they could not afford to wait, Liverpool pressed ahead with a gamble on Mario Balotelli which has failed to pay off.
However, Falcao will return to Monaco at the end of the season and weigh up his options. He is keen to stay in the Premier League but has failed to convince on his showings for Louis van Gaal’s side.
Simeone Commits To Atletico
Diego Simeone is expected to sign a contract extension at Atletico Madrid on Tuesday that will keep him at the club until 2020.
In a blow to the clutch of English clubs watching the Argentine manager’s situation carefully the former Atletico player and captain has decided to stay in the Spanish capital.
His sister Natalia Simeone who represents the Atletico Madrid coach is understood to have closed negotiations on Monday.
United Get Hummels Go Ahead
Manchester United have finally been given the go-ahead to close in on Mats Hummels and install him as their new defensive lynchpin at the end of the season.
Sportsmail understands that, after years of staying loyal to Borussia Dortmund and resisting overtures from United, the Germany centre-back has decided he's ready to cut his ties with the fallen Bundesliga giants and move on.
He is fully aware of continuing interest from Old Trafford and is believed to have set his sights on becoming the latest big-name addition to an expensive United refit under Louis Van Gaal.
The one stumbling block could be the asking price, with Dortmund willing to grant Hummels' wish, but only on their terms. They want £36million for the 26-year old and are reluctant to accept less.
