English Championship side, Birmingham City have immortalized Nigerian striker, Obafemi Martins, by naming a day in the history of the club after him.
Martins scored the goal that won the League Cup for the side in the 2011 Final against London side, Arsenal.
The Birmingham Mail in an article celebrating the Super Eagles starker, wrote on Friday:
“Happy Obafemi Martins Day! February 27, 2011, Birmingham City 2 Arsenal 1.
The greatest afternoon in Blues’ history, the occasion when all the keeping right on finally led to the end of the road. Glorious.”
