The stage is set, the world is ready, as the African Cup of Nations is set to kick off on the 17th of January.
The stakes couldn't be higher due to the absence of the tournament's defending champions Nigeria, as all teams are set to go all out and give it their all.
Here we look at the top five players that could write their names in history as a result of AFCON 15.
5. VINCENT ABOUBAKAR (CAMEROUN)
The 22 year old Porto striker is considered one of the best young strikers in Africa.
In the crisis surrounding Cameroun football in recent times he has probably been the only shining light. Since making the squad for the world cup 2010 in South Africa at age 18, there has been no stopping his development.
With 8 goals in 15 apperances for both club and country this season, there is no doubt he is headig places.
4. NABIL BENTALEB (ALGERIA)
Born to Algerian parents in France and started playing for local side Lille FC, he was released at 15, but he didn't stop loving and learning the game.
Bentaleb signed for Tottenham Hotspurs in 2012, and made his first team debut in 2013, and since he has been on the rise.
The 20 year old Algerian will be a key asset to his country as they will be trying to field a superior midfield to oter teams.
3. TOKELO RANTIE (SOUTH AFRICA)
Just 24 years of age, this young man has it all to give.
Currently an employee of Championship table toppers Bournemouth, he has a clear understanding of the game.
With South Africas well documented history of lack of firepower, he spells the solution to that; since scoring his first international goal on his debut against Gabon in 2012, and a recent brace during the qualifiers against Nigeria in 2013.
He shook off an injury to be fit for this tournament, so you can be sure he would be giving his all.
2. ISLAM SLIMANI (ALGERIA)
Power, pace and a powerful shot, Slimani is the defination of a striker.
He is no newcomer but he will be looking to put his name forever in our heads.
Currently plying his trade with Sporting Lisbon with 15 goals, he is no doubt a lethal force
1. WILFRIED BONY (IVORY COAST)
YES, the same Bony, the former Swansea player. The player with most goals in 2014 in the EPL (20 goals)
Outstanding in every sense of his game, a bully when against defenders and shot power goalkeepers hope not to see on display.
With 11 international goals, (2 at the world cup) this man has only just begun his journey to the top.
Bony is fully expected to be the star of this tournament, I guess we can only watch and see how it unfolds.
There you have it our top 5 players to make something out of the AFCON.
