The Super Eagles might have won a psychological aspect of Saturday's crunch 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo Republic, as the hosts will not have the comfort of a mammoth crowd rooting for them from the stands of the stadium in Point Noire.
While massive support and partisan chants from the stands would have been one factor to count in Congo's favour for victory in the make-or-break match, facts have now emerged that only 11,000 fans will be on hand for the encounter against Nigeria.
The Red Devils will now have less to count on from the ‘12th man’ in the stands, after Federation of Congo Football received a stern warning from Confederation of African Football (CAF) over crowd trouble that could mar Saturday’s game, sequel to some incidents during a recent game.
AfricanFootball.com learnt that there was an emergency meeting at the weekend involving the country’s minister of sports, the Congolese Football Association and the authorities of Pointe Noire to address this issue.-
