La Liga side, Barcelona have announced a change in their travel plans from Amsterdam back to Spain owing to the breakdown of their plane.

Barcelona sealed their place in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night after their 0-2 defeat of Ajax, the Spanish side was originally meant to travel afterwards but the faulty airplane saw them extend their stay.

Confirming the development through their official twitter handle, the Catalan giants wrote on Thursday morning: “Due to a breakdown of the plane, the squad could not return on Wednesday night and will fly today at midday “
