With the Gunners coming out with a draw at Leicester City, hardly has there been any time a better cry for a new striker at the Emirates.
There is no denying Yaya Sanogo's potential talent but with the increasing opportunity cost of not picking up a win and scoring goals in the Premier League, Arsene Wenger cannot afford to have someone who is learning on the job.
He needs it big, he needs it proven, he needs a striker and not just any, a goal scoring striker.
COST-A LOT LESS NOW:
32million pounds for his services and at this rate, though early, could be the season signing.
Chelsea have shipped out Fernando Torres, Demba Ba, and Samuel Eto'0 replacing them with Diego Costa, Loic Remy, and veteran Didier Drogba.
Mourinho signing Costa took a step in eliminating his worries of last season, the team could hardly score when they conceded and had less goals in them from the men upfront but conceding three and giving out six against a team like Everton shows they are the team to beat to the title this season.
TURF MOOR IS MORE TOUGH
Louis Van Gaal is still searching for his first win and while losses to Swansea City and MK Dons in the League Cup were to be blamed on the novelty of the 3-5-2 formation on the defence but firing blanks at Turf Moor against Burnley just adds another problem to the equation.
Man Utd cannot score. In past years, Attack has always been the best defence for the Red Devils but now they cannot fork out goals.
Correcting nervy defences is a much easier thing to do than getting your strikers to score while Di Maria was a breath of fresh air, Rooney looked out of ideas, Mata was invisible, and RvP looked far from match fitness.
But hey, LvG said two to three months, notice how calm he is on the bench? The jury is still out.
WHO NEEDS A SUAREZ?:
To be honest, when Luis Suarez left Anfield, the questions were in the atmosphere but none stood out like "where are the goals going to come from now?".
Over to White Hart Lane and it just seems Liverpool might have just prepared for life without the Uruguayan. Goals from Raheem Sterling, Steven Gerrard, and Alberto Moreno saw the Reds come out 3-nil winners over Tottenham with Sterling missing a great opportunity he created to grab a brace.
16million purchase of Mario Balotelli looks like it would be a massive pay off, though the Italian did not get a debut goal he was highly effective in the game and if he clicks well with Sturridge as the few times he did in the game, it would certainly not be a BS partnership. (Actually, it would be: Balotelli-Sturridge? I'm just saying).
AMOEBA LEAGUE
I have no idea why I could not find a better name but it might just be due to the reasons of the league yet to take shape.
Random wins, big teams unable to close games and title holders slipping at home to Stoke City, and Aston Villa are winning, surprise, surprise. Swansea and Chelsea still maintain their perfect record with 3 wins from 3, Manchester United cannot lose hope now given their rivals at the moment Tottenham and Everton lost, with big guns Arsenal and rich Man City drawing and losing their games respectively.
Whole lot of goal fiestas, six at St. James' Park and nine at Goodison Park? Who needs an international break? Man Utd.
