Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has agreed to a monthly pay of six million Naira for his new contract, according to the country’s sports minister.
The Nigeria Football Federation had offered the coach five million Naira with the coach asking for 15 million Naira.
Sports Minister Tammy Danagogo told reporters the coach will be willing to accept six million Naira now.
"The contract talks are almost complete. Keshi has said he is willing to come down and let me tell you, the difference between what Keshi is asking for and what NFF is offering is a difference of one million Naira," said sports minister Danagogo.
"So, I don't think that Keshi's contract talks would be a problem any more."
New contract talks were deadlocked following the leadership tussle that has engulfed the federation.
But the intervention of the minister of sports has seen the coach agreeing to handle the Eagles next two games against Congo and South Africa.
