Saturday saw three of the preseason favourites for the title in action—and none of them managed to come away from their respective fixtures with all three points. Chelsea and Manchester City found it tough going in away fixtures with Stoke City and Southampton, respectively, while Manchester United's troubles under David Moyes continued in the weekend's early kick-off against Newcastle.
