Controversial Liverpool striker Luis Suraez has been included in the crack 23-man squad named by Uruguay Coach Oscar Tabarez for the battle against the Super Eagles of Nigeria and other contenders at this year’s Confederations Cup in Brazil.
Suarez’s Liverpool teammate Sebastian Coates also made the cut for the Brazil tournament while the duo of Olimpia midfielder Alejandro Silva and Carlos Penarol defender Adrian Valdes were dropped from the initial pool of 25 before Wednesday's friendly against France.
Debut appearance
The Copa America champions make their FIFA Confederations Cup debut on 16 June against world and European champions Spain in Recife.
Four days later, they take on Nigeria in Salvador, before finishing their Group B campaign on the 23rd against Tahiti, again in Recife.
