It's a sad twist of fate for English manager Alan Pardew. His bouyant giant killing Newcastle side are now a shadow of themselves.
Alan Pardew has been under scrutiny for his side's performance during the second part of last season in which they lost as many games as they won in the first part of the season, his tactics of always taking the blame after each result was already irating the toons faithful.
His side's survival was down to luck and willingness of his player's to stay top, Pardew's tactics has failed him over and over again and it seems the trend has continued this season again.
Alan Pardew got into deep trouble with owner Mike Ashley last season for headbutting Hull City defender David Meyler and he is hanging on the line after series of bad results. The Newcastle hierarchy had given him time to sort out the bad run of result facing the club but he has not ticked the bell well.
His habit of bringing French speaking player's to St James's Park has hit the brick after his new signings failed to spark to life. The duo of Remy Cabella and Emmanuel Riviere have all failed to live to their billing.
The game against Southampton was probably his worst game this season. Parading a weakened defence due to the absence of centre back Williamson through suspension, Pardew was unable to identify his past mistakes and still played an high line.
The one attacker tactics that has failed in previous games was still employed and it was not long before a rejuvenated Soton side began pounding them.
Newcastle United lost with a deficit of four at the end and the pressure is now on him to deliver, his tactics once again failed leaving him with two losses in four this season.
It will only be a matter of time before he bulks up If he sticks to his barren approach, the owner has said he won't be fired but he more than anyone know's that he has little time to turn things around.
